April Broadbent

I'm a community campaigner for The Pew Charitable Trusts. I live on Kombumerri land on the Gold Coast and work based in Yuggera/Turrbal land in Brisbane, but covering lands all across Queensland.

I work on campaigns to protect nature from the threats of mining and logging and to strengthen biodiversity, climate resilience, and resourcing for First Nations people to manage their lands and keep culture thriving.

I've organised and campaigned across climate, animal rights, and social justice movements. I also rescue and rehabilitate pigeons.

During COF I'm keen to refresh and further develop my organising and campaigning skills, and learn from peers how to better enmesh solidarity and justice values within conservation campaigning.
