I'm Ange (she/ her), based in Muloobinba on Awabakal Country, or Newcastle NSW. I am a unionist, and believe in the power of collectivism to tackle broader justice issues. I was introduced to COF through the Hunter Jobs Alliance (HJA), an organisation comprised of unions and environmental groups. HJA campaign for the provision of effective support for the people and communities most impacted as our industries transform. Also, I'm a passionate advocate for inclusive workplaces especially traditional blue collar, heavy industry and am a representative for women in the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA). I'm also involved in helping secure strong outcomes for both workers and our oceans as the oil and gas industry turn their attention toward the removal of their offshore infrastructure. I feel very privileged to be among the many doing such important work in our communities, and see the Organising Fellowship as a powerful tool in heightening this impact.
