I’m currently President of the Australian Religious Response to Climate Change. I have a spokesperson role and assist with coordination of ARRCC activities. I coordinate in areas of policy and advocacy and the Go Fossil Free work. It is the latter campaign which has led us to be more involved in campaigning at Maules Creek. In 2015 one of our campaigns will be to capitalise on Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment to encourage more determined faith-based responses, especially to calls for divestment. A social worker by profession, I have a long history of campaigning on global poverty, mainly in a voluntary capacity; I’ve been an advocate for fair trade, debt cancellation for the global South and more and better Overseas Development Assistance.
