Jess Mattar

Jess Mattar is transgender, brown, queer, disabled and walks through life fighting for realistic and radical change to support those who experience minority stress and oppression.

Currently working with drummond street services on the Disability Royal Commission, their work focuses on fighting for the rights of disabled people from intersectional minority backgrounds. Jess has a history of working in primary and early intervention into transgender and gender diverse interpersonal violence, volunteers as a peer to peer support leader and has previously worked in the union movement fighting for the rights of discriminated workers. “It is when we advocate to bring communities together, that we enact radical and revolutionary change.”
