In my search for the most fulfilling way to tackle climate change, I’ve come 180 degrees from the regimented realm of marine science to the world of social change where human relationships and messaging reign supreme. In my exploration of the climate movement as a volunteer and employee in Victoria, I’ve always wanted to give people a way to work collectively and more strategically to make the future better. I was fascinated by the different kinds of community organising I took part in at Environment Victoria (EV), the office of Adam Bandt and Lock The Gate. As a volunteer with EV I helped to regain momentum after a big campaign and start an offshoot volunteer group in my own community.
